For this project, the client approached us to carry out an upstairs window replacement and installation. They reported that the frames were rotten and letting in draughts. We have over 25 years of experience in delivering the finest joinery and carpentry work in the South East of England. Many times have we had to deal with an upstairs window replacement so the job was a great job for our talented team of specialists. Their expertise was really displayed throughout this project.
Before
The existing windows on their property were a safety risk and were in desperate need of replacement.
The frames and the external window sill were completely rotten. This impacted the structural integrity of the window as these parts serve to support and hold the window in place.
The panes were also only fitted with single glazing; they were old and were letting in a draught.
Due to the property being in a conservation area, it was required that the windows be an exact duplicate of what existed there before. We worked with our designers to come up with an appropriate solution.
After
After creating a brief with the client and our design team a replacement window was manufactured. The JJ Group then began the replacement by first removing the old windows and assessing the window openings.
We then installed the new, bespoke crafter windows made using Accoya. Accoya is an environmentally friendly and sustainable timber that has an impressive level of quality. The windows were then spray-finished in white, providing a traditional and attractive appearance.
The new slimline double glazing will significantly improve the energy efficiency of the property but also maintain the original look and feel.
To finish off the job, we added newly polished brass fasteners and stays to improve the overall aesthetic of the windows.
